Monodisperse Polyethyleneglycol

・Monodisperse (PDI of exactly 1.00) polyethyleneglycols (PEG) which have chains of uniform length allows more accurate characterization and control of physical, chemical and pharmacokinetic properties of the PEG analogs and their synthetic adducts.

・Commercially available PEGs are derived from crude materials by classical polymerization of ethylene oxide, which are necessarily "polydisperse" and exhibit wide distribution of PEG length (PDI is more than 1.03).

・We have established our original stepwise synthetic procedures and have succeeded in obtaining high molecular weight (>5K), monodisperse(PDI<1.000004), heterobifunctional polyethylene glycols.
